Eighteen Indiana teachers have begun a yearlong STEM leadership and training program through Regional Opportunity Initiatives. The teachers recently kicked off the program at WonderLab Museum in Bloomington.

The educators will participate in professional development activities throughout the school year, including experiential learning, engineering design process and project-based learning. Participating teachers are expected to commit to the same school for at least two years and to serve as an ambassador of the program. 

This year’s participants are all from ROI’s Uplands region:

• Lacey Higgins- North Elementary, Daviess County
• Audra Jahn- Fifth Street Elementary, Dubois County 
• Seasonal Lawson- Loogootee Elementary, Martin County
• Michelle Mattox- Bloomfield Elementary, Greene County
• Aaron Pickett-Bradie Shrum Elementary, Washington County
• Clay Raber- North Daviess Elementary, Daviess County
• Jo Roach- Helen Griffith Elementary, Daviess County
• Kelly Schroering- Cedar Crest Intermediate, Dubois County
• Crystal Shellenberger- Throop Elementary, Orange County
• Cierra Simmons- Edgewood Primary, Monroe County
• Jennifer Solari- St. Vincent De Paul Catholic, Lawrence County
• Naomi Trojan- Needmore Elementary, Lawrence County
• Shannon Wagler- Loogootee Elementary, Martin County
