Bob Whitt, who was named president in April 2016, says he will continue with more limited ownership responsibilities at the brewery through the end of the year.
Whitt says Sun King’s principal Co-founders Dave Colt and Clay Robinson will continue to lead the company as co-chief executive officers.
Since joining Sun King more than two years ago, the company has seen tremendous growth, including increased distribution throughout Indiana and into new markets such as Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and, most recently, Florida. Sun King is nearing the opening of its craft distillery in Carmel and recently broke ground on its specialty brewery and taproom at The Yard at Fishers District.
"I have been a fan of the Sun King product line and organization since the very beginning nine years ago. To have had the opportunity to work full-time at the company for the past two+ years has been a true honor and privilege," said Whitt. "I leave Sun King as I came — proud of the people and products that make it such a treasure to Indy. It is an organization with heart that demonstrates its commitment to the community daily."
Whitt says he has not yet decided what his next move will be, however he says it will "definitely be here in our adopted home of Indianapolis."
