Subaru foundation awards over $100K to 13 Indiana not-for-profits

The foundation said the funding will support a variety of arts, education and welfare projects.
Over $2.9 million from the foundation has been given since 1997 through the organization’s twice annual grant cycles. The funding is available to the foundation from multiple million-dollar gifts by Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana Automotive.
The spring recipients are:
- $9,960 to Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum (DeKalb County) for audio-visual equipment upgrades for special events area
- $9,896 to Bloomington Developmental Learning Center (Monroe County) for Dutch doors for classrooms
- $2,487.78 to Dayton Elementary School PTO (Tippecanoe County) for tables and chairs for special events
- $11,340.14 to Hanna Community Center (Tippecanoe County) for supplies to improve educational garden
- $3,850 to The Honeywell Foundation (Wabash County) for musical instruments and art equipment for community programs
- $4,000 to Indiana State Museum (Marion County) for Rigamajig (large-scale loose parts building and engineering kit for kids)
- $11,265 to LaCrosse Volunteer Fire Department (LaPorte County) for battery packs, charging station and cylinders for self-contained breathing apparatuses
- $9,050 to Millie’s Thrift Stores (Tippecanoe County) to parking lot repairs and improvements
- $9,326 to Sojourner Truth House (Lake County) for three-door freezer for food pantry
- $14,997 to Songwriter’s Association of Mid-North Indiana (Tippecanoe County) for audio-visual equipment for performance and education space
- $9,989 to the Town of Mulberry (Clinton County) – gazebo for community park
- $1,714 to Tree Lafayette (Tippecanoe County) for components for deep root watering and feeding system
- $8,988 to William Henry Harrison High School (Tippecanoe County) for computers and related equipment for Multi-Media Technology Resource Center
