The department says the effort is a new way to be compliant with the 2021 Indiana Insurance Data Security Law.
The law requires those insurers and entities to develop, implement and maintain an information security system, investigate any cybersecurity threats and notify the IDOI, which is the regulatory body.
“If an insurer and/or other licensed entity experiences any cybersecurity event that requires notice, we are directing them to fill out and report the event using the new online form,” Indiana Department of Insurance Commissioner Amy Beard said in written remarks.
