State recognizes 17 Hoosier adult education programs

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Department of Workforce Development is honoring 17 adult education providers in its inaugural Indiana Adult Education Programs of Excellence initiative. The award recognizes providers that excel beyond state goals in performance metrics.
“Indiana continues to excel as a state due to the hard work, dedication and innovative practices being implemented by adult education leaders and providers in Hoosier communities every day,” DWD Commissioner Richard Paulk said in a news release. “The providers receiving this designation have done exceptional work in supporting adult learners as they achieve their goals, improve their educational and economic opportunities, and better their lives, families and communities.”
The “model” programs are:
- Area 30 Technology Center Adult Education (Greencastle)
- Benton Fountain Warren (Williamsport)
- Center for Workforce Innovations (Valpraiso)
- Crawfordsville Adult Resource Academy
- Elkhart Community Schools
- Fort Wayne Community Schools
- Grant Regional Adult Education (Marion)
- Horizon Education Alliance Adult Pathways (Goshen)
- Impact Institute (Kendallville)
- Lafayette Adult Resource Academy
- Monroe County Community Schools
- MSD Warren Township (Indianapolis)
- MSD Washington Township (Indianapolis)
- River Valley Resources, Region 9 & Region 10 (Madison)
- South Bend Community School Corporation
- Vincennes University
- Wagler Education and Training Center (Lyons)
Each provider was honored honored at the Indiana Association of Adult and Continuing Education conference and award ceremony Sept. 28 in Michigan City.
