The Elkhart Truth reports Brinco will invest $52 million in the project and add 250 jobs.
Chris Stager, president of the Elkhart County Economic Development Corp., told the publication that Brinco, plans to use the former Chassix facility at 51650 C.R. 133 for manufacturing.
According to the publication, Stager filed a tax abatement request for the company to the Elkhart County Council Saturday. He also said the company plans to invest $38.5 million in manufacturing equipment and $13.5 million in real estate.
“We anticipate this being one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in Elkhart County,” Stager told the publication.
The council has reportedly approved a declaratory resolution on the tax phase-in, which was requested for a 10-year term on real estate and seven years for equipment.
The project, if approved, would be slated for completion by the end of 2021.
The council will consider a confirmatory resolution in November.
