Gary Erskine, president of the Anderson region for Fort Wayne-based STAR Bank, has announced his retirement, effective December 31. Erskine spent 38 years with STAR Bank in the Anderson region, overseeing STAR’s commercial lending efforts in Madison County. 

Erskine serves as a board member for the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, United Way and St. John Hospital Foundation. He also services on the Finance Committee for the Madison County Foundation.

“STAR is grateful to Gary for his 38 years of service. His unwavering commitment to his customers and the Anderson community is unsurpassed,” said Ben Campbell, Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending for STAR. “We wish him and his family the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Trent Dowling will succeed Erskine following his retirement. Dowling has led commercial lending efforts in STAR’s East Region since 2004.
