The two providers say the partnership’s aim is to focus on improving the health of their respective communities through collaboration on clinical best practices, operational efficiency and access to care.
Keith Jewell, president of St. Mary’s Health, says both providers share similar cultures with core missions of providing high quality clinical care. Both organizations will work together to find ways of enhancing their respective clinical services and explore opportunities for joint programs.
“This alliance represents a tremendous opportunity for both organizations to further our missions and do so in a way that is cost-effective and advances clinical quality,” said Philip Patterson, FACHE, Owensboro Health’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Both organizations will remain independent and will not have any legal responsibility over the other. The providers say each will be responsible for its own assets, operations and liabilities while funding and management for new programs and services will be "mutually determined and jointly agreed upon."
