Horizon is a longtime supplier to DexKo subsidiary Dexter’s door and vent manufacturing plant in Bristol.
Horizon makes plastic injection molded components for a variety of industries. Founded in 1983, the company employs nearly 20 people at its facility in Osceola.
Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. A spokesperson for Dexter told IIB on Monday the company does not anticipate any jobs to be negatively affected by the deal.
“After nearly 30 years of partnering with Dexter, we are very excited to join the DexKo Global team,” Neil Hassinger, president of Horizon Plastics, said in a news release. “This combination will expand our current market exposure while also bringing injection molding expertise to Dexter, creating many opportunities for both the employees and the business to grow and succeed.”
Dexter CEO Adam Dexter said the addition of Horizon Plastics will strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers and improve the flexibility of Dexter’s business.
DexKo Global employs some 7,000 people at about 150 facilities, including eight in Indiana.
