Our partners at WEHT-TV report applications have been submitted to the Warrick County Board of Zoning Appeals for the projects, which would be built on 72 acres of farmland.
The facilities would be located near the intersection of Epworth Road and Vann Road, not far from I-69 and State Road 66, east of Evansville.
The large sports complex, being proposed by the Warrick County Redevelopment Commission, would feature full-size basketball courts that could be converted into volleyball courts, while some hard surface courts could also transition to turf fields.
Documents filed with the Board of Zoning Appeals state the venue could also convert to an open space for large events, according to WEHT.
A similar indoor sports facility was proposed for the same area in 2021, but those plans never came to fruition.
A second application includes plans for a golf and family entertainment center that would be used for “short game and long game.” No other details for that project were made available.
A timeline for when construction could begin was not given.
