Spirit Adds Indy-to-Newark Service

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowSpirit Airlines says it will begin a once daily flight from Indianapolis International Airport to Newark. The nonstop service to the New York City area will begin June 22.
“Newark is a convenient gateway into New Jersey and New York City for travelers, and Spirit’s new nonstop flight will provide the first ultra-low-cost option into that market from Indy,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
The airport says the service will operate year-round.
This May, Spirit will also resume a nonstop flight from Indy to Myrtle Beach, a route last served by the airline in 2019.
