The industrial real estate development company said the $20 million project will feature a 304,000-square-foot building on a 19-acre plot.
Platform Real Estate Group is a joint venture between Thornton Capital in Louisville and Denton Floyd Real Estate Group, which has offices in Louisville and Jeffersonville.
Known as River Ridge Tract 29B, the facility will feature 69 loading docks, a 36-foot clearing height, 180 current employee parking spaces and 32 future employee parking spaces.
Construction on the facility began in November and is slated for completion this December. Platform plans to begin marketing the building to potential tenants in June.
“Platform Real Estate Group is committed to delivering long-term assets that serve as critical infrastructure to supply, assemble, and manufacture products and provide services across the United States,” said Tom Jones, Co-Founder of Platform Real Estate Group and President of Thornton Capital. “We are excited about the prospects in our local community and more broadly throughout the country.”
Additionally, the River Ridge Development Authority Board of Directors voted during its February meeting to enter negotiations for the sale of a 47-acre plot of land in the Charlestown side of the business and industrial park.
The property is located at the intersection of State Road 62 and Jim Lewis Avenue.
“Private development sites within River Ridge continue to be in high demand,” RRDA Executive Director Jerry Acy said in written remarks. “The board’s approval of another land sale is proof positive that our focus to build out the local infrastructure is paying off and building a brighter future for southern Indiana by attracting new business and economic opportunities for the surrounding communities at the same time.”
The RRDA said the property will add to the more than 600,000 square feet of business space already in progress in the Charlestown side of River Ridge, which also includes space in Jeffersonville.
Earlier this week, River Ridge said crews are nearing completion of the more than 1 million-square-foot Gateway 10000 spec building in Jeffersonville. Construction is slated to be complete this summer.
