The company is investing $15 million to turn the former Fort Wayne Plastics facility into what it says will be the largest swim spa manufacturing operation in the world.
The new facility, which is next to Master Spas’ current campus, is scheduled to be fully operational by January and will expand the company’s footprint by six acres. The manufacturer says the project will result in up to 107 new jobs by 2021. Master Spas currently has more than 450 Fort Wayne employees, and plans to add 80 new associates within the next year. The company says it is looking to fill positions including production line workers, supervisors, engineers, software developers and quality inspectors.
Master Spas says the new operation will house its R&D, warehouse as well as a new design center and marketing and engineering offices. The company also plans to use the investment to increase hot tub production at its first facility.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered master Spas more than $600,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the job creation plans. Northeast Indiana Works and the Allen County Council are working on additional incentives.
