South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has named Denise Linn Riedl chief innovation officer. She most recently worked for the City Tech Collaborative in Chicago. Riedl previously worked at the Smart Chicago Collaborative and the Federal Communications Commission. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Riedl co-chairs the National Digital Inclusion Alliance Inclusive Smart City Working Group and is a Fellow with the Benton Foundation.
