South Bend insurance company continues westward expansion

The company announced Thursday it has acquired Brisk Advisors, an insurance firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah, though financial terms are not being disclosed.
Brisk Advisors has been in business for over 50 years and was previously known as Insurance Network. Managing Principal Taylor Covey called the acquisition a pivotal moment in the company’s history.
“By leveraging the strength, reach, and capabilities of Gibson, we will accelerate innovation and deliver expanded and enhanced commercial risk and employee benefits solutions to both current and future clients that help their businesses thrive,” Covey said in a news release.
A spokesperson for Gibson told Inside INdiana Business the agency has brought on 14 employees from Brisk. The company also said it plans to expand its presence throughout Utah and add new jobs, though a specific number was not provided.
“We see Salt Lake City as more than just a new location; it’s a nexus of innovation, culture, and potential,” Gibson CEO Tim Leman said in the release. “As we expand into this market, we are not just acquiring a business, but integrating diverse strengths, embracing new visions, and catalyzing collective potential.”
Gibson already has a Western U.S. presence with offices in Tucson and Phoenix in Arizona. The company also has offices in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne in Indiana, as well as Kalamazoo, Michigan.
