The city of South Bend has hired Yolanda Young-Smith as director of the Human Rights Commission. She most recently held the role of career coach with Goodwill Industries and previously served as director of student life, leadership and development at Ivy Tech Community College. Young-Smith holds a master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and is pursing a PhD from Illinois State University.
