Cleveland-based The Austin Co. will provide a number of services in relation to the plant, including design, engineering and construction.
Pretzels Inc. announced in September plans for the facility, which is expected to create up to 65 jobs over the next four years. The Austin Co. says it will work to modify an existing 45,000 square-foot shell building in Plymouth to "create a highly efficient production plant designed to address the new FSMA requirements and provide flexibility to accommodate future expansion."
"We pride ourselves on being there for our clients and are pleased to support Pretzels with this time-critical and important project," said Brandon Davis, vice president of operations with The Austin Co. "Our team’s experience in the baking industry and full-service, innovative approach made this partnership a natural fit."
The new plant is expected to open early next year. The facility will replace one in Pennsylvania, which The Austin Co. says was destroyed in a fire in June. Pretzels Inc. employs 330 full-time workers at its Bluffton location.
