Shady Creek Winery to Celebrate Grand Reopening

The winery underwent a $2.5 million renovation that began in 2020 to boost production capacity and add amenities such as a new event center and rooftop patio.
The winery was acquired by the Schwartz family in December 2019, though financial details were not disclosed.
The renovation project included a state-of-the-art production facility with new wine making equipment and an automated bottle line. The winery also added a commercial kitchen, wine shop, backyard bar, and a reimagined backyard space with outdoor fire pits, an outdoor stage, a creek and waterside seating.
“I am very much looking forward to sharing our new spaces and creating memorable experiences for all of our guests,” General Manager Victor Arriga said in a statement to Inside INdiana Business. “The Schwartz family is excited to share our passion and love for quality wine, food, and experience with the Michigan City Community. “
Shady Creek Winery says it has added 20 employees over the past six months and has plans to add more as its events program continues to be developed.
