The Tribune reports Touchpoint LLC, doing business as The Royal Group, says the equipment will allow the company to add a small number of jobs.
The Seymour City Council voted 5-0 on the abatement request from The Royal Group, which makes corrugated packaging, graphics and displays. The new equipment includes a color flexo rotary die cutter with a conveyer system. The company plans to add six jobs in addition to retaining nearly 70 more.
The publication reports Jackson County Industrial Development Corp. Executive Director Jim Plump spoke on behalf of the company and told council members the equipment installation should begin soon and be complete by the end of the year.
The company is a subsidiary of Carmel-based Schwarz Partners LP, which operates 37 manufacturing and distribution centers in the U.S., including four others Indiana. The Tribune reports the company sought and received a $3 million abatement in 2018.
