A special interest fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation has awarded over $750,000 in grants to 24 nonprofit organizations. The Central Indiana Senior Fund advisory board chose organizations that create opportunities for seniors.
The grants will support efforts to provide food, transportation and shelter, along with health and wellness programs, affordable housing and initiatives to increase seniors social interactions.

- Castleton United Methodist Church/ Still Waters Adult Day Center – Adult Day Center Scholarship Program – $18,000

- Community Alliance of the Far Eastside – Partner Place Senior Program for neighborhood seniors – $35,000
- Connect2Help – Operating Support – $50,000
- Eskenazi Health Foundation – Senior Care Program – $35,000
- Eskenazi Health Foundation – Marion County Senior Care Program – $35,000
- Families First Indiana – Older & Challenged Adults Program – $35,000
- Flanner House – Senior Program for neighborhood seniors – $35,000
- Gibault Care – Medical & Therapy Equipment to help nursing home patients be more mobile – $34,910
- Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana – Senior Hunger Initiative – $35,000
- Hawthorne Social Service Association – Senior Program for neighborhood seniors – $29,000
- Horizon House – Senior Neighbor Services for homeless seniors – $35,000
- John H. Boner Community Center – Senior Socialization/Wellness Program expansion for neighborhood seniors – $35,000
- Little Red Door Cancer Agency – Rides of Hope – $35,000
- Meals on Wheels of Hancock County – One Meal at a Time – $10,000
- National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped – Donated Dental Services for seniors – $10,000
- Servants at Work – Ramps for Seniors to safely enter and exit their homes – $50,000
- Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County – Reaching Resources – $35,000
- St. Vincent Hospital Foundation – Dementia Caregiver Education Program – $10,450
- The Salvation Army – Bridging Services for homeless senior or those at risk of homelessness – $25,000
- Trinity Free Clinic – Free health care for seniors – $30,000
- Trusted Mentors – Mentoring At-Risk Seniors – $25,000
- United Way of Central Indiana – 2019 Winter Assistance Fund – $10,000
- Westminster Neighborhood Services – Senior Shopping Day at the food pantry – $20,000
