Last October, Doral announced plans to establish Mammoth Solar across 13,000 acres in Starke and Pulaski counties, bringing 1.3 gigawatts of renewable energy to the region.
Work is already underway on the first phase of the project in Starke County. The company says it started earth moving in the spring. Now, it is installing posts and frames that will hold the solar panels.
Doral expects the first phase to be operational in late 2023.
The second phase will be in Pulaski County.
