The nonprofit says current President and CEO Tim Kean will retire at the end of the year.
“After an extensive search we are happy to have found an experienced person to serve Second Harvest for the future,” said Jack Basler, chairman of the board of directors. “Bekah comes to us with a well-rounded background in serving the community and I look forward to her leadership.”
Clawson, who will begin her new role in October, has been serving as the executive director at HOPE in Lancaster Inc. in South Carolina for the past seven years.
“I am thrilled to be relocating to Muncie, Indiana to be the CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana” said Clawson. “The agency has a great reputation and under the leadership of Tim Kean has served the area effectively and expertly. I hope to bring my experience and unique perspective to the position working with the staff and partner agencies to help further the mission of feeding the hungry while also addressing the causes of food insecurity and empowering people toward self-sufficiency.”
Prior to her current role, she worked as a development & fundraising professional, program manager, case manager, and served in multiple roles in church ministry.
