A search is underway for the next president and chief executive officer for United Way of Allen County following a quick departure of the previous CEO. The organization says David Nicole, who held the position since November 2014, abruptly resigned Friday. 

No explanation was given for his resignation.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to thank David for his years of service and strong contributions to the community in multiple roles. We wish him the best on his new journey. During this time of transition, we have every confidence that Sue’s proven leadership will serve the company well in the interim,” said Don Cates, vice chair of the board for United Way of Allen County.

The board of directors has appointed Sue Ehinger as interim CEO. She currently serves as Chair of the United Way Board.
