The board has also approved $25 million in loan requests for school construction and technology projects throughout the state.
The board says it will add up to nine bonus points to student ISTEP+ scores depending on the method of testing they used. Board member Lee Ann Kwiatkowski says the move will ensure "every student is treated equally, regardless of the method in which they took the test."
Board members also voted to refer a proposal for new high school diplomas to a task force. The group will be tasked with clarifying parts of the proposals and providing descriptions of new required courses. The board expects to consider an updated proposal by April.
The next State Board of Education meeting is set for Wednesday, December 2 in Indianapolis.
