Subscribe NowThe Saint Mary’s College Division for Mission has added Arlene Montevecchio and Father Steve Newton to its team. Montevecchio was named director of the Center for Spirituality. She previously served as director of Center for Social Concerns at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. Montevecchio earned her bachelor’s degree in religious studies from St. Norbert College, her master’s degree in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School, and is currently pursuing her PhD in systemic theology from Duquesne University. Father Newton is the new priest on the Campus Ministry staff. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, his master’s degree in arts in pastoral studies from Loyola University Chicago, and his doctorate of public service from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon. Father Newton served in treatment centers both in Portland and South Bend for over two decades and was a rector and adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame.
