The school says the Aspire Higher campaign will support its strategic plan priorities, such as campus infrastructure improvement and enrollment growth.
One of the main projects in the campaign is a $7 million effort to renovate the schools residence hall, Le Fer Hall, to not only address deferred maintenance in the building, but support continued enrollment growth. SMWC says, to date, commitments of $1.1 million have allowed renovations to begin, including work on student social areas, a food service preparation area, and public restrooms on the main level, all of which are expected to be complete this summer.
"This campaign is about doing something for our students and the generations of students yet to come," said Karen Dyer, vice president for advancement at SMWC. "Our efforts will bring people who love The Woods together to invest in the future of this institution. How exciting that we get the opportunity to bring to fruition a renovation that will be both a modernization of the residence hall and a restoration of this classic structure as part of the College’s commitment to being a part of the National Register of Historic Places."
The campaign also seeks to grow endowment at unrestricted giving at the college. You can learn more about the Aspire Higher Campaign by clicking here.
