RV manufacturer makes layoffs in Nappanee

Our partners at Fox Michiana report Nappanee-based Newmar Corp. has eliminated positions at its campus, though a specific number of jobs was not given.
The company said it was making the layoffs due to a drop in customer demand, dealer inventory levels and other business considerations.
Newmar did not respond to a request for more information from Inside INdiana Business.
As of Wednesday night, the company had not filed a WARN Notice with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, which is required in the case of a mass layoff or plant closure.
Newmar makes a variety of luxury motor coaches as a subsidiary of Minnesota-based Winnebago Industries Inc.
