RQAW Corp. Adds to Team
Gina Zaccagnini and Ben DeMaria

Subscribe NowFishers-based RQAW Corp., a nearly 65-year-old engineering and architecture firm, has added Gina Zaccagnini (pictured) to its environmental department as an environmental scientist. She compiles field work, such as soil sampling, wetland delineations and GPS tracking. Zaccagnini also writes National Environmental Policy Act documents for prospective projects. She received her bachelor of science degree in natural resources and environmental science, with a concentration in water quality from Purdue University.
Ben DeMaria (pictured) has been hired as an environmental scientist. He drafts National Environmental Policy Act documents in accordance to local, state and federal regulations, assists biologist and historians during field surveys to identify ecological and historical resources, conducts wetland delineations in the field and assists in evaluating projects to ensure everything conforms to environmental regulations. DeMaria previously worked for Davey Resource Group as an environmental technician and also served as an emergency response contract arborist during hurricane Irma. There he coordinated with emergency tree crews to clear vegetation from power lines. DeMaria attended the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where he studied environmental management and received his bachelor of science in public affairs.
Drake Mulcahy has been named a graduate architect. Currently, he is helping draft and model 3D design features in the Schematic Design phase for the Bluffton Armory Modernization project. Mulcahy previously served as an architectural intern for both TEG Associates and JMA Associates. He received his Master of Architecture and his Bachelor of Science in architecture from Ball State University.
Troy Casey has been appointed a project engineer. He previously worked at American Structurepoint Inc. There Casey worked on ground-water treatment design, waterway upgrade and rehabilitation projects. He received his bachelor of science in civil engineering from Purdue University. Casey is also a licensed engineer in the state of Indiana.
The Vincennes architecture department of RQAW Corp. has added Lara Dawson as a graduate architect. She will manage local projects, such as the Gregg Park Shelter House and the Knox County Courthouse. Dawson previously served as an architectural intern at Donovan & Donovan and BGO Architects. She received both her bachelors in applied science in architectural studies and her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Southern Illinois Carbondale.
Also, Ben Nelson has been hired as a staff engineer to the firm’s La Porte water resources department. He is currently working on the La Porte hospital project and the La Porte County sewer and water-main extension initiatives. Nelson previously served as an environmental engineering intern with NTH Consultants Ltd. He received his bachelor of science in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan. There he also served as president of the environmental engineering student association.
