RQAW Announces Change in Leadership

Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based engineering and architectural consulting firm RQAW Corp. has selected Troy Woodruff (pictured) and Brad Battin (pictured) to co-lead the firm. Current President Richard O’Connor will retire in June. He has served as a member of the firm for 42 years, becoming a principal partner in 1997. With more than 40 years of experience in the structural engineering field, his expertise has contributed to many of RQAW’s most prestigious projects, including Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Belmont and Southport Treatment Plants, Borman Expressway, Indiana Toll Roll and INDOT’s first design-build project. Woodruff joined the company in 2015 and has served as vice president of operations. Prior to joining RQAW, he served as the chief of staff, chief of operations and Vincennes district director for the Indiana Department of Transportation. Woodruff also served as an elected official in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2004 to 2006. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Indiana State University. As co-president, Woodruff’s primary role will be to oversee the technical operation of the company. Battin has been with the firm since 2013 and has served as vice president. He brings an equally diverse set of skills to RQAW in the areas of finance, operations and government public relations. His extensive industry experience includes overseeing corporate strategy, client development, and marketing. Battin studied economics and political science at the University of Florida. As co-president, Battin’s primary role will be to oversee business development, marketing and finance. Woodruff and Battin’s co-leading roles extend past RQAW to their sister company, BW Development, where they serve as co-owners.
