Retired Rose-Hulman head baseball coach Jeff Jenkins served in a dual role as athletic director. In this role, Tweedy will have full-time administrative responsibilities to support the growing athletic department.
The school says she will also oversee compliance to federal government, NCAA and conference regulations and policies.
The Fightin’ Engineers are a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The STEM-focused institution offers 20 intercollegiate sports teams.
“The increasing administrative responsibilities of having an athletic department with 20 intercollegiate sports teams along with their coaches, support staff and student-athletes made it a necessity for us to have a full-time athletic director,” said Rose-Hulman President Robert Coons.
Tweedy was a three-year women’s track and field student-athlete at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland, receiving numerous all-conference awards and serving two years as team captain.
