The number is a 20% increase from last year and a 50% jump from three years ago.
Tom Bear, vice president for enrollment management at Rose-Hulman, said the surge in interest is a reflection of the school’s reputation as a “top-tier institution in STEM education.”
“Despite a nationwide trend of declining enrollment in higher education, there remains strong demand for the high-quality STEM education that Rose-Hulman provides,” Bear said in a news release. “With state-of-the-art learning facilities and a strong emphasis on learning outcomes, Rose-Hulman is the perfect choice for students who want to succeed in STEM fields.”
The Terre Haute-based institute attributed the increase to its research, lab space and resources designed to equip students for STEM careers.
The deadline to apply to the university for the 2024-25 academic year is Feb. 1, 2024.
