The company announced this week it has acquired the Subaru dealerships in Lafayette and Fort Wayne from Rohrman Automotive Group, though financial terms are not being disclosed.
The two dealerships have been rebranded under the Zeigler name. A spokesperson for the company said the Lafayette location employs 85 people, while the Fort Wayne location has 45, and no jobs are expected to be negatively affected by the acquisition.
Zeigler also has an existing Subaru dealership in Merrillville that employs 55, as well as Ford and Lincoln dealerships in Elkhart, according to the company’s website.
“Zeigler is proud to expand our family of dealerships across the Midwest with these Subaru store purchases in Lafayette and Fort Wayne, which were both top locations for us when considering a strategic expansion in Indiana,” President Aaron Zeigler said in a news release. “The Subaru brand also aligned with our core values of service and integrity, making this purchase a perfect fit with us after the success of our other two Subaru stores.”
The Lafayette dealership, located at 1600 S. Creasy Lane, is billed as one of the largest Subaru retailers in the country and is just minutes from the Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant that produces the automaker’s Ascent, Legacy, Outback and Crosstrek models.
Zeigler operates dealerships for various automakers in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The company employs a total of about 2,500 people.
