U.S. News & World Report includes the hospital in its 2019-20 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings.
The hospital received national ranking in nine of the 10 pediatric specialties included in the list. Each specialty ranks the top 50 programs in the country. Riley is ranked among the best programs for cancer (44), cardiology and heart surgery (21), diabetes and endocrinology (16), gastroenterology and GI surgery (16), nephrology (15), neurology and neurosurgery (24), pulmonology (17), orthopedics (40) and urology (3).
The only specialty that did not include Riley in the top 50 is neonatology. The rankings are based on a combination of clinical data and reputation among pediatric specialists throughout the country.
“While health care is rapidly changing, the objective of U.S. News’ Best Children’s Hospitals remains the same: provide families with a comprehensive and trusted starting point as they, in consultation with their doctors and other medical professionals, search for the pediatric care they need,” said Ben Harder, chief of Health Analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “Our rankings, now in their 13th year, have always put parents and young patients at the front and center of our mission.”
