The Richmond Jazz kicked off its inaugural season in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Series last week with a series of away games.
The announcement of the new team came late last year. The Jazz is being operated by the nonprofit organization Hitters Hangout Sports Foundation and will play at McBride Stadium in Richmond.
"I am glad to see this great tradition of summer baseball continue in Richmond," GLSCL Commissioner Deron Brown said in December. "McBride Stadium is a great venue to watch a game. I am sure she will be witness to many magical GLSCL moments in the future."
The Jazz will play a total of 20 home games at McBride Stadium. The team is the only Indiana representative in the league. The majority of the other teams come from Ohio with one other from Michigan.
The Jazz will host the Licking County Settlers Thursday night at 7:05. You can find out more about the Richmond Jazz by clicking here.
