Rensselaer manufacturer lands $155M military contract

The contract for Rensselaer-based Talbert Manufacturing Inc. calls for the production of semi-trailers for the U.S. Army.
The DoD did not specify how many of the M872A4 flatbed semi-trailers will be produced. The 40-foot semi-trailers have the capacity to hold up to 34-tons.
Talbert Manufacturing was founded in 1938 and manufactures a variety of heavy capacity trailers and specialized transportation equipment, according to the company’s website.
The company did not respond to multiple requests for more information from Inside INdiana Business.
The DoD said the work locations and funding will be determined with each order. The contract is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2028.
