Subscribe NowINDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis-based Rehab Medical Inc. has announced a merger with medical device manufacturer Cork Medical, also based in Indy. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed, however Rehab Medical tells Inside INdiana Business it plans to add 50 jobs by the end of the year.
Rehab Medical is a national Complex Rehab Technology company which focuses on advanced medical equipment. Cork Medical specializes in medical devices and support surfaces used in the treatment of wounds.
"The merger better aligns the companies’ efforts, which previously operated independently," said Patrick McGinley, chief executive officer of both Cork Medical and Rehab Medical. "Our new direction will allow our talented teams to collaborate and work toward our shared goal of improving lives."
Rehab Medical says the manufacturing and distribution of wound care products will continued to be managed by Cork Medical’s product team. The two companies employ a total of more than 350 people.
