Red Cross Names AmeriCorps Program Director

Subscribe NowThe American Red Cross has named Davetta Henderson (pictured) AmeriCorps program director for the Indiana region. She is an AmeriCorps alumnus with more than 20 years of administration experience in higher education, the social service industry and the federal government. Over the years, Henderson has participated in dozens of nonprofits and community service agencies in Indianapolis. She holds degrees in Business Management & Communication, Community Psychology, and Education.
Also, Barb Coury, regional chief development officer for the Indiana region has been selected by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as the 2017 recipient of the CCS Outstanding Fundraising Professional award. This is the highest award AFP gives to its members, and is presented to the member who demonstrates creativity, effectiveness, and quality leadership, while also practicing ethical fundraising. Coury first became a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 2004. Since then she has helped the Red Cross raise millions of dollars, leading her region to receive the national recognition in 2016 for its significant increase in fundraising revenue. Her expertise has been utilized by the organization to examine fundraising productivity and major gift officer retention.
The Indiana Region serves 87 Indiana counties consisting of six Red Cross chapters: Central Indiana (Indianapolis headquarters), Northern Indiana (South Bend headquarters), Northeast Indiana (Fort Wayne headquarters), Northwest (Merrillville headquarters), Southern Indiana (Evansville headquarters) and West Central Indiana (Terre Haute headquarters).
