Karen Fordham, who was named to the position by parent company Lutheran Health Network in January, has resigned to take another position out-of-state.
Lutheran Health Network Public Relations Supervisor Geoff Thomas said hospital employees were contacted Monday about the decision and "we appreciate Karen’s leadership and wish her well." He says a search effort for the next CEO by the St. Joseph board, physicians and administration will begin soon. Lisa Dolan has been appointed interim CEO and Thomas says she has been "working closely with St. Joe physicians and leaders over the last several months."
Prior to the role in Fort Wayne, Fordham served as president and CEO of Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital near Detroit, where she was previously vice president and chief operating officer. Fordham was also president and CEO of Detroit Surgery Hospital.
