The Vision Corner Learning Center in Randolph County will receive $400,000 that will help pay for exterior and interior building improvements.
The funding will also help the Vision Corner to develop more programming to help upskill and retrain workers for new careers.
The region was awarded $15 million from the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative in December 2021. It was one of 17 regions to receive funding for economic development projects.
For the last several months, the regional partnership developed and submitted projects to the IEDC for review.
“Vision Corner is a prime example of how collaboration can lead to unique and innovative community development. This is exactly the type of project that will have a long-lasting impact on the residents of Union City, Randolph County, and east central Indiana,” said Trevor Friedeberg, President and CEO of the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership.
In total, the region’s READI contribution of $400,000 has been matched with $1.6 million in public, private, and state resources.
