The process involves proprietary processing developed by the company that will make it the only facility in North America to make the product.
The $17,000 training grant from the Whitley County Redevelopment Commission will be used to familiarize eight employees with the new process. The company also plans to hire four new workers to support the new work at the Columbia City facility.
“Increasing the supply of talented employees for the county is a priority for the EDC,” said Jon Myers, Whitley County EDC President. “We are pleased Pyrotek has chosen its Columbia City location to introduce its cutting-edge technology and manufacture a new line of products. The training funds being provided by the County will benefit both the company and our local labor force.”
The company first announced plans for the new manufacturing line in 2017.
