The university says the fully online program will target agribusiness professionals looking to boost their skills in data analytics, quantitative data analysis, and data-based decision making.
The program includes 36 credit hours and in addition to the required courses, students will choose between two specialized online graduate certificates: Spatial Data Science or Biotechnology Quality and Regulatory Compliance.
Some of the required courses include Strategic Food and Agribusiness Management, Economics for Food and Agribusiness Managers, and Applied Quantitative Methods for Decision Making.
Purdue says students should be able to complete the degree in 18 to 24 months, and the program is accessible to working professionals or new graduates seeking an advanced degree.
“That makes it nice for time management, and it also makes it work across time zones,” Nicole Widmar, associate head of the agricultural economics department and graduate program chair, said in a news release.
The program is set to launch in January.
