The fund, established in 1974, helps support technology and innovations that are being commercialized through the Purdue Research Foundation.
The fund awards innovative Purdue faculty and staff members twice a year
In its most recent round, Trask awarded funding to:
- Kaushik Roy, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, received $46,000 for his work on sensing technology. Purdue says the sensing module works with machine learning for applications ranging from electric cars to manufacturing and home design.
- Bumsoo Han, professor of mechanical engineering, received $34,585 for his innovation of a collapsible basket array for high throughput histology analysis of 3D organoids/spheroids. The other members of the team include Thomas Siegmund and George Chiu from the College of Engineering.
The application process for the next round of funding through the Trask Innovation Fund is now open. Purdue inventors have until February 21 to apply.
