The university says prospective student applications were also the highest in school history.
Donations from over 76,000 benefactors totaled more than $343 million. Vice President for Development Amy Noah says $108 million in additional funding was raised, compared to last year. The school has surpassed the $200 million donation mark 14 straight years.
Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships Suresh Garimella says 2014-2015 also outpaced all other years in terms of external research funding. Levels exceeded $401 million, which is a record total.
Entrepreneurship at the school reached new heights in the past year, too. The school says 178 new patents, 131 licensing deals, 317 invention disclosures and 40 startups were registered. Purdue Research Foundation President Dan Hasler says 75 jobs and $25 million in state funding can be connected to new Purdue companies. Last month, the school also touted a National Academy of Inventors and the Intellectual Property Owners Association report that linked 93 U.S. utility patents to Purdue in 2014, good enough to be ranked 16th in the world among universities.
