As the university’s chief academic officer, she will oversee the six programmatic colleges and the academic programs as well as international programs, retention, institutional effectiveness and a research office.
“Dr. Mora’s scholarly background and student-focused research align closely with our institutional mission of providing transformative change for our metropolitan area and developing the best outcomes for our students,” Purdue Northwest Chancellor Kenneth Holford said in a news release.
Mora is currently the deputy provost at the Metropolitan State University of Denver where the college’s president called her leadership “invaluable.” She has three decades of high education experience, especially at Hispanic-serving institutions.
She is a labor economist and has research expertise on Hispanic/Latino socioeconomic outcomes that she has presented to the White House, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
“I look forward to serving as Chancellor Holford’s thought-partner in helping to cultivate PNW’s impact on workforce development and the economic and community transformation of northwestern Indiana and the Chicago metropolitan region,” she said.
