Purdue Names Discovery Park Director

He most recently served as an energy and resources industry executive with Deloitte Consulting LLP in Washington D.C.
Before joining Deloitte, Diaz de la Rubia was chief research officer and deputy director for science and technology at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He earned his bachelor's degree and doctorate from The State University of New York, Albany.
Diaz de la Rubia succeeds Alan Rebar, who is leaving the school to become vice chancellor for research, innovation and economic development at North Carolina State University.
He begins in his new role at Discovery Park on August 17.
