Trigon’s parent company, Massachusetts-based Precision Engineered Products LLC, acquired the manufacturer in May.
The company says the cornerstone of the facility is a new Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence, which will serve orthopedic, bioscience, aerospace, energy and transportation industries. It also features a "Sawbones Lab" for training local manufacturers on the company’s tools.
Precision Engineered Products has divisions that supply devices and assemblies, precision stampings, electrical contacts, clad and specialty metals, precision plated parts, surface finishing and injection molding products.
PEP Trigon also has an operation in Illinois. At the time of acquisition, PEP President John Manzi said "the combination of Trigon International with our capabilities in orthopedic surgical device design, prototyping, package design, and validation services will provide customers with a full suite of services for orthopedic products. Trigon International enhances PEP’s ability to meet the stringent regulatory requirements for the orthopedic market and its position in the marketplace will drive continued customer growth with orthopedic and medical OEM’s."
The PEP International management team was retained following the acquisition. PEP Trigon Chief Executive Officer Joe Fengolio said "in this ever-changing industry, it is critical that we be able to quickly respond to the customer with a full range of precision engineered solutions. With this new partnership, our ability to respond to that need will be second to none."
