Michael Nichols will serve as associate director and dean of SJC@MU. In October, Marian and Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer detailed a partnership to launch the school near Marian’s Indianapolis campus.
St. Joe suspended operations in 2017 after massive debt responsibilities forced the school into an attempted rebirth.
Marian President Dan Elsener said "in Jeffrey Jourdan and Michael Nichols, we have identified and hired two proven leaders with the requisite experience for launching our new, innovative, and mission-centered two-year college. Through their leadership, we will provide an innovative approach for students who want to earn an associate degree through a creative new program of professional experience and a highly relevant curriculum."
Elsener has said the model being created could grow to have a statewide footprint. Jourdan previously served as executive director of strategic initiatives at Ivy Tech Community College. Nichols most recently served as associate vice president for academic affairs and curriculum coordinator at St. Joe.
