The company helps first responders recover from and prevent injuries in a manner similar to collegiate and professional athletes and also provides behavioral health services.
ProTeam Tactical was founded in 2018 by former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jim Sorgi and former St. Louis Cardinals right fielder Joey Vandever.
The new location, set to open this summer at 601 Presidents Boulevard in Louisville, will be the company’s sixth location. Its services will be available to the city’s first responders, including the Louisville Metro Police Department.
ProTeam will be creating three full-time jobs in Louisville. The company currently employs 30 across its entire footprint.
LMPD Major Bryan Edelen said the new location will enhance the services offered at the LMPD Wellness Center.
“This multi-faceted approach to officer well-being will produce healthier outcomes for officers’ minds and bodies,” Edelen said in a news release. “Healthier officers can only help create healthier neighborhoods.”
In addition to the physical support ProTeam offers, the Louisville location will include the company’s behavioral health platform Shield, which launched last year. The HIPAA-compliant platform allows users to self-appraise themselves and receive access to resources to help them with any issues they’re facing.
Financial terms of the company’s investment in Louisville are not being disclosed.
ProTeam Tactical also has three locations in Indianapolis, one each in Fishers and Westfield, and another in Merrillville.
