Princeton Review Lists Top Colleges of Indiana

Subscribe NowPrinceton Review is out with its annual list of the nation’s top 385 colleges and nine Indiana schools made the list. The survey team asked 140,000 students at the colleges to rate their schools on dozens of topics important to applicants, such as Best Science Labs, Best Health Services, and Best Campus Food.
There is no overall ranking for the best university from 1 to 385.
“We are well aware, however, that applicants need more than an academic assessment to choose the colleges best for them. We created our dozens of ranking lists specifically to facilitate that search,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review’s Editor-in-Chief and lead author of the book. “We tally our lists using data we gather directly from our surveys students of attending these colleges. Our survey asks the students about their professors, administrators, school services, campus culture, and other facets of life at their schools."
Here’s who made the list in Indiana, in alphabetical order of the city where it’s located:
- Indiana University – Bloomington
- Wabash College – Crawfordsville
- DePauw University – Greencastle
- Hanover College – Hanover
- Butler University – Indianapolis
- Earlham College – Richmond
- University of Notre Dame – South Bend
- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology – Terre Haute
- Purdue University – West Lafayette
Wabash College was in the ‘top 20’ rankings of eleven different sub-categories, such as ‘Most Accessible Professors,’ based on the number of responses from students. Rose-Hulman also had a high ranking, number 6, for ‘Students Study the Most’, based on the highest number of study hours per day.
Several Indiana schools did not make the 2020 list, including Ball State University, Indiana State University, Southern Indiana University and the University of Evansville.
