Fort Wayne-based Premier Truck Rental will Wednesday break ground on a $5 million expansion of its headquarters near Fort Wayne International Airport. The company says the project includes about 24,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.

PTR originally announced plans for the project in May. The company said the extra space was needed to accommodate its growing vehicle fleet, including new electric vehicles.

PTR provides commercial vehicle and equipment rentals for construction companies, utilities, utility contractors, and wind and solar contractors, among other clients.

As part of the expansion, the company plans to add 65 jobs by the end of 2025. PTR currently employs some 110 workers.

The expansion is slated for completion in June 2023.
